Halfway along State Highway 3 between Hāwera and Wanganui lies Waverley, South Taranaki's southern most town.
Waverley offers visitors a wide variety of adventures and experiences to get your heart pumping or help you enjoy some rest and relaxation. The town centre has retail and service outlets as well as a supermarket, service station, café, bar, takeaways, bank and library.
A quick detour off the main road will take you to Waverley Beach, renowned for its interesting rock stacks and caves, or to Waipipi Beach, which is flat and safe for swimming. The fishing and offshore reef diving is some of the best in New Zealand.
